On Saturday, 30th of November 2024, we were pleased to welcome 44 experienced and future entrepreneurs in collaboration with Africa Designs Innovation (WIDU's technical partner in Cameroon for entrepreneurial support & coaching) to the Hôtel Azur conference room in Yaoundé. The meeting covered 3 areas: a general presentation of the WIDU project, including the criteria and procedures for participating in the program; question and answer sessions; and personal discussions. The aim was to inform potential entrepreneurs about how the WIDU project works.

Converging diversity
This information session brought together participants with a wide range of profiles and expectations. It was therefore important to listen to the audience and provide them with the information they needed to join the WIDU program. Through a presentation of WIDU success stories in Cameroon, the multi-sectoral and territorial nature of the program was demonstrated, thereby underlining the inclusion of all sectors of activity in the eligibility pool.
The diaspora at the heart of the WIDU approach
The collaboration of the diaspora as part of the participation process was at the heart of the discussions. This question, raised repeatedly by the participants, enabled a return to the essence of the project which involves the Cameroonian diaspora in European countries, combined with WIDU's financial support to help entrepreneurs develop their businesses.
Communication for effective cooperation
During this constructive information session, experienced and future WIDU entrepreneurs were also encouraged to maintain active communication with the project team to ensure reliable, transparent and more effective support. This section was supported by a WIDU entrepreneur, Ms. Kengne Momo a promoter of KRESS CAO brand products, who shared her experience as a participant in the project, both before and after receiving the subsidy. This information exchange reduced the risk of misinformation among participants.
A concept tailored to entrepreneurial development
It became clear that the WIDU's support concept is well suited to the needs of the entrepreneurs. who, in addition to financial support, benefit from field-specific coaching. The coaching was much appreciated by the participants and was at the same time an opportunity to invite them to subscribe to the social network channels, such as the WIDU.camroun Facebook page. This enables the entrepreneurs to stay informed of upcoming information sessions and other news.
