Janet Frimpong, a determined and hardworking entrepreneur, has been in the aluminium fabrication business for ten years. Thanks to the Original WIDU Grant, she has been able to expand her business, Janet Aluminium. Her fabrication services cater to individuals, small businesses, and domestic customers seeking high-quality aluminium doors, windows, and display showcases.
An Entrepreneur Overcomes Financial Barriers to Growth
Before receiving the WIDU Grant, Janet faced significant challenges. The high cost of aluminium materials made it difficult for her to purchase in bulk, which prevented her from benefiting from discounts available to larger competitors. Additionally, she needed to hire more workers to scale up production but lacked the financial means to do so.
The WIDU Grant, combined with Janet's personal investment, enabled her to purchase raw materials at a reduced cost, stabilizing prices despite market fluctuations. It also allowed her to hire one new full-time worker, contributing to her community's economic development.
"Our joint investment has helped me to stock up some important raw materials we need for production. The advantage I have now is I can confidently give out job quotations to customers at a more stable price because of the availability of the materials. My clients are satisfied with the pricing and the quality of our work."

A Business on The Path to Long-Term Success
Janet Aluminium now employs five full-time workers and trains three apprentices, equipping young people with valuable skills in aluminium fabrication. The additional employment has boosted production and improved the company's competitiveness. "We are now more competitive in the market because we can deliver quality products faster," says Janet.
With the financial stability gained through WIDU, Janet has a steady stock of aluminium materials, enabling her to take on larger orders and reduce production costs without compromising quality.

Looking to the Future: Expansion and Community Empowerment
Despite challenges like fluctuating exchange rates, Janet continues to manage her resources effectively. Looking ahead, she plans to expand her operations further, hire more workers, and continue training young people in her field. Janet Aluminium is demonstrating that small businesses, with determination and the right financial support, can drive real economic change
