Laika Beauty

A luxury beauty lounge in Kenya that offers sustainable beauty products

International Women's Day (IWD) on March 8, 2023 celebrates the economic, political and social achievements of women past, present and future. WIDU presents these achievements as part of #IWD2023. This success story is about Liza Akinyi and her business Laika Beauty from Kenya.

„My goal with this business is to help people live out their fullest potential by helping them look and feel great“, this is how she describes her beauty lounge. Laika Beauty is a one-of-its-kind, luxury beauty lounge which prides itself in delivering superior, ethically sourced, and sustainable beauty products, to their clients. Laika Beauty has an outlet and an e-commerce platform serving customers from all over Kenya. She used the WIDU Grant successfully and says: „This investment has been very helpful to my business especially during this difficult pandemic times. Previously, we were in a very small shop that made it difficult for customers to find us. We have since been able to move to a newer, bigger shop with more visibility.“
