From June 3rd to 6th, the WIDU.africa program in Cameroon has had the honor of participating in the 4th edition of the Digital Innovation Festival (DIF) held in Douala at the Akwa Palace Hotel. The program is participating in a panel discussion on the theme “How to access financing tailored to micro-enterprises?” in collaboration with Activspaces.

A tailored concept, an opportunity for sustainability

The Digital Innovation Festival focuses on several topics related to the digital economy. In this framework, WIDU attracted particular attention from the audience, including entrepreneurs, students, and business leaders, who were eager to interact and request more detailed information about the program. Discussions provided an opportunity to briefly present the WIDU project and its approach. The exchanges during this panel also highlighted the successful paths of two entrepreneurs who have benefited from the program.

WIDU, a lever for entrepreneurial success through a diversified financing offer

The testimonials of these two entrepreneurs during the panel highlighted the different types of grants offered by the program. Ms. Ariane benefited from a local call, while Mr. Biloa was supported though the Original WIDU Grant (OWG). This diversification made it possible to better present the WIDU approach in the context of supporting African micro and small businesses (MSMEs) through the implementation of financing mechanisms adapted to the challenges faced by entrepreneurs and their respective environments.

More than just financing, tailored support

Although they had never met before, both participants gave the same testimony, particularly regarding the tailored, individual support offered by WIDU throughout the process and even after receiving the funds. Following these storytelling sessions, WIDU has established itself as a catalyst for the sustainable success of micro and small businesses.

WIDU has been a gateway to the world for me. Thanks to WIDU, I have customers in Douala and throughout other cities in Cameroon.
